Ghosts becoming monsters becoming everyone I know is my first video work, and is based on an ongoing project where I document various traces of humans in nature.

The soundtrack was created in collaboration with sound engineer and partner Pål Tufte Sogn.

The title is inspired by the way the words Ghosts and Monsters are used as metaphors for traces of the past in the present, and ecological disasters, respectively, in the book Arts of living on a damaged planet: ghosts and monsters of the anthropocene. It also plays on the normalization that occurs in us when we see human-made changes in nature over time, also known as shifting baseline syndrome.
